age groups will be considered.

The Rochester Lady Lions coaches teach the proper fundamentals to play the game the way it’s
meant to be played. Our practices are very structured, stimulating, energetic, safe and most importantly FUN! Our coaches are all ACE certified and background checked through the American Softball Association. They are also certified in CPR and First Aid. Our coaches are knowledgeable about
our sport and stay up to date by attending coach’s clinics. Some former Lions coaches are
even currently coaching at the collegiate level.
Our organization takes pride in their community service involvement. In recent years we have raised thousands of dollars for cancer research through Coaches vs Cancer Initiatives with the
American Cancer Society, adopted inner city school classrooms, and participated
in the “Baby Love Secret Santa Program” through the Friends of Strong Hospital.
The Lions is one of the eldest travel softball organizations in our area. Our attendance at nationals
is second to none in Rochester. Our 2014 12U team took part in the April KICK-Off Classic in PA and qualified for USSSA Nationals at Disney in Orlando Florida.
ASA Nationals: 2014 12U, 2013 12U, 2012 10U and 18U, and 2009 16U.

Showcases and will help guide you in your college search. We have even had a team attend the
Rising Stars showcase in Florida. Our 2014 16U team is attending several college showcases

2014/2015 Vipers Travel Softball Try-Outs

Highly Competitive Travel Softball Program with Teams at 16U, 14U, 12U, and 10U Divisions

Try-outs for 16U/14U/12U will be held Aug 3rd, 10th and 12th

The Program:
Vipers Softball is a program for girls who want to play high-caliber, competitive softball and improve their skills. This is facilitated by excellent instruction by dedicated coaches. All coaches are ASA certified. We practice nearly all year (no practice in August and no practice in December except for pitchers). In addition to individual team practices, we offer a program philosophy on how to play the game. We offer skills practices during the off-season, separate pitcher’s practices, separate catcher’s practices, and separate hitting instruction. And while there is no shortage of opportunity for the girls to improve their skills, we also recognize the desire for girls to play multiple competitive sports. This is a rapidly expanding program in terms of players (with 84 girls participating this past season), talent, and geography.

Fall – practice starting in Sep, typically playing in one or two tournaments and games with area teams
Winter training – emphasis on physical training, hitting, position work and pitching in the off-season (practices once per week Jan and Feb, twice per week in Mar and Apr with exceptions for players on school teams)
Summer includes tournaments commensurate with each team’s level
Summer (Jun and Jul) – all teams will play a weeknight travel league
Pitching, hitting, and position clinics are included for all levels
Pitching instruction is subsidized by the program with a nominal fee per session

16U: We are creating a highly competitive 16U team that will play a mix of local tournaments and regional tournaments

14U: 2 teams: both teams will be highly competitive with one team working toward Eastern Regionals

12U: 2 teams: one playing at a highly competitive level and one playing mostly local “B” competition

Benefits vs Other Programs:

Convenience – The convenience of a top softball program with the ability to stay relatively local for practices and many games. We will be utilizing the local indoor turf facilities for practices, batting, clinics, and potentially winter games. We have great access to the 4 skinned fields on the Victor Central Schools campus.
A “Softball Family” – Often these are players from the same or neighboring school districts. Players and families develop great bonds and relationships that last for many years.
Cost – A lot of softball for the money: 6 tournaments (except 10U) - 40 to 55 games in total depending on the team, league games during the week, off-season skill development, additional “program clinics”, and specific pitchers, catchers, hitting sessions.

Try-outs: For 16U/14U/12U will be held Aug 3rd, 10th and 12th
Please register at if you are interested in trying out.
