a few players to fill out our roster on the 12U Finger Lakes Nitros.
We currently have eight players, and could use about three (maybe four) more.
What we need most is another solid pitcher.
We're based in Newark,
and also have players from Geneva, Waterloo, Lyons, and Clyde-Savannah.
We expect to be much more competitive this year (our 2nd year having a 12U team),
provided we don't wear our our top pitcher!

Battery Lightning Elite -College Development Organization
The Battery Lightning Elite organization (affiliated with Amherst
Lightning) are looking for dedicated area athletes for it's college
development teams in the 14U and 16/18U levels. The Lightning Elite are
coming off their most exciting season yet successfully competing in Gold/A level
College Showcases throughout the northeast. Very soon due to our results over
the last 3 years and especially this season, combined with our philosophy of
development over all else...we will have an exciting
announcement from ASA that will open even more doors!
The concept behind the 14U team is that of providing the same focus of
training and development in order to best prepare these young athletes for
a rigorous future Gold/A Showcase schedule. This team will take part in
6-7 summer events all at a reasonable distance so as to be tested and find
the best competiton available. With that the players will benefit from
team work outs at the Battery, winter indoor tournaments and a 2-3 event
fall schedule. Year round training for softball but at the same time
flexibility for those athletes that play multiple HS sports.
The College Exposure team or "black" will take on a similar schedule
that
our 18U team did this past summer with 6-7 Gold/A Showcase events. We are
under the advisement of college coaches and current and ex-D1 athletes
within and outside of the Lightning family as we put together our schedule
for this team. Our results this past summer will open up even more high
level exposure opportunity as well. Like our team last season this team
will also benefit from team workouts at The Battery, 2 Winter indoor events
and a 2-3 event Fall Showcase schedule.

for the 2010 18U Monroe Blazers will be Saturday, August 22 2009, 8 am to 11

We all know that the reduction
in games allowed to 20 in New York State will diminish the playing time and
opportunity to grow for many players. The more you play the better you get.
The best way to get better is to play with and against players that are better
than you. I would like to give your kids the opportunity to play another 40-55
games next Summer.
The Monroe Blazers have
been a quality organization for more than 15 years. We strive to improve the
play of the team with hard work and attention to detail.
We have 5 kids who are moving
up from our successful 16U team and are looking for 7-9 more to fill out the
roster. We are looking for players for all positions.
Our goal is to play in 5-7
tournaments, possibly one this fall or this winter, the rest next summer. The
farthest we may travel is to Binghamton for a one day indoor tournament in January.
The rest of the travel will be within the Syracuse and Buffalo areas. We plan
to participate in the WAA league played at the Webster Town Fields. We may compete
in one college showcase tournament depending on the quality of the team we put
together. We will make that decision this fall.
The cost for the program
will be in the neighborhood of $450. This covers uniforms, tournaments, league
fees, insurance, and facilities for winter workouts. There is plenty of opportunity
for fundraising to put a dent, and even totally cover the cost. This is a full
year program designed to improve the play of players heading into their final
years of high school, those heading off to college and those looking to compete
after their freshman year.

Tryouts for 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U

2010 LADY LIONS TRY-OUT INFORMATION
Try-outs will be held 8/22 and 8/23 at the Victor High School Varsity
and JV fields. 10U, 12U and 14U try-outs will be held from 9-11 a.m. each day.
Registration will open at 8:45 a.m. 16U and 18U tryouts will be held from 11:30

The Rochester Lady Lions Girls Fastpitch Softball is a non-profit United
States Junior Olympic Softball program for age groups 12u, 14u, 16u, 18u
and 23u.
Our elite travel teams allow young female athletes to play against the
highest level of competition in regional, state, and national
championship play. They compete in high exposure tournaments both in and
out-of-state. Rochester Lady Lion players are able to showcase their
talents and look to the future for numerous college scouts from around
the nation attend these competitions. Several Rochester Lady Lion
players have been named county and state all stars and have earned
athletic/academic scholarships to many prestigious colleges and
universities.
Rochester Lady Lions provides girls with many desirable experiences.
They learn concepts of cooperation, communication, self-discipline,
leadership, and teamwork. These are necessary skills in becoming
successful players and teams.
